What You'll Do
Reporting to the Director of Nursing, the Registered Nurse in Charge (RNIC), also known as the Charge Nurse, provides clinical support to nursing staff and acts as the RN in the building as per legislative standards. The Charge Nurse supports as the first point of clinical contact above the unit RPN for clinical concerns, providing guidance to nursing staff and PSWs as required. The Charge Nurse collaborates with the Clinical Care Coordinator and completes regular rounding and documentation review while on shift. The Charge Nurse is the first backup for unit nursing shortages. The Charge Nurse works a schedule according to their dedicated line, including days, evenings, and weekends.
