As a member of the health care team, the Registered Nurse coordinates and evaluates patient care and provides safe and competent nursing care according to the job description and standards of practice for a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department.Qualifications * Current Certificate of Registration with the College of Nursing of Ontario as a Registered Nurse2. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support certification (B.C.L.S.)
3. Demonstrated current knowledge of assessment and management in a broad range of disease processes involving all age groups; eg. critically ill, injured, episodic and non-urgent patients
4. Demonstrated current knowledge of and experience in Emergency and Critical Care Nursing in caring for adults and children
5. Demonstrated expertise in physical assessment, ECG interpretation, health teaching, clinical decision without a prior diagnosis of emergency presentations in all age groups
6. Demonstrated current knowledge of cardiac and respiratory arrest procedures
7. Demonstrated proficiency in working with patients, families, peers and multidisciplinary healthcare teams in a effective, professional, caring manner
8. Demonstrated excellent problem-solving and communication skills, both written and verbal
9. Demonstrated leadership ability and organizational skills, ongoing professional development
10. Ability to perform well in high stress situations
11. Successful completion of recognized Emergency Nursing related courses, disrythmia courses and assessment and triage courses preferred.
12. Critical Care Certificate preferred
13. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (A.C.L.S.) and Pediatric Advance Life Support preferred (P.A.L.S.).As a condition of employment, you are required to submit proof of full COVID-19 vaccination to Employee Health Services.
