Your Opportunity:
Reporting to the Manager of the NECHC Emergency Department and OP IV Therapy and Women's Health Clinic, the incumbent will work with patients of all ages in the IV Therapy Clinic and female patients seeking obstetrical and gynecological care in the Women's Health Clinic. The incumbent performs a variety of nursing related duties in The Registered Nurse position is the 'front line' representative in delivering care within the Ambulatory Care Clinics. Based on a primary health care model, the incumbent functions within a multidisciplinary team, and is responsible for the assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation of patient care. This work would involve, health promotion and prevention, health education, and treatment of illness and injury accordance with clinical policies and standards. The incumbent must have strong leadership, judgement and decision-making skills, as well as the ability to participate in inter-professional collaboration. The Registered Nurse will play a key role in providing safe, quality, patient and family centered care, while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.
Description:
As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS. PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit holders will be paid $39.58 - $54.16 per hour. Upon obtaining a full licence, the rate of pay will be adjusted to the applicable Registered Nurse rate in accordance with UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii) as applicable.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification. If you have not practiced as a Registered Psychiatric Nurse within the past five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required prior to employment: CRNA Medication Management (Chapters 1-4): https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/learning-and-development/learning-modules NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification: https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Minimum 5 years recent Women's Obstetrical Health/Fetal Health Surveillance experience required. Knowledge of IV initiation and maintenance required. Competency with medication administration required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Current experience with would care and dressing changes is preferred. Ambulatory Care experience is preferred. Connect Care Experience is preferred.
