Your Opportunity:
Reporting to the Manager of the NECHC Ambulatory Clinics, the Registered Nurse (RN) will participate with the Pediatric Clinic team in providing safe and effective care to clients receiving services at the Northeast Community Health Centre. The RN provides assessment, consultation, way finding, advocacy and management of children with emotional, behavioral and development and health concerns. The RN participates in case management and conferencing for treatment planning and evaluation. The Nurse will work closely with the Physician group and Social Worker to provide treatment and ongoing management for the pediatric patient and their families/care givers. The Northeast Community Health Centre serves a diverse population of North Edmonton.
Description:
As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS. PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit holders will be paid $39.58 - $54.16 per hour. Upon obtaining a full licence, the rate of pay will be adjusted to the applicable Registered Nurse rate in accordance with UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii) as applicable.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification. If you have not practiced as a Registered Psychiatric Nurse within the past five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required prior to employment: CRNA Medication Management (Chapters 1-4): https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/learning-and-development/learning-modules NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification: https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Experience with pediatric and adolescent patients with experience in behavioral and growth development treatment issues is required. Minimum 2 years Pediatric Ambulatory Clinic and /or pediatric inpatient experience required. Understanding of the concept of primary care and case management is required. Coordinates with other health team members, government agencies and family members.

Preferred Qualifications:

Pediatric Outpatient experience preferred. Ability to relate to children, adolescents, parents and community service providers in a collaborative and professional manner. Demonstrates strong and assessment skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, strong professional judgement, initiative and effective time management skills. Good working knowledge of computerized systems. Experience with Connect Care preferred.
