The Youth Addictions Outpatient Clinic at the Nexus Business Park is hiring a Clinic Nurse that is responsible for supporting clinical activities and physician needs. This role works closely with the team psychiatrist to provide medication management and liaise with parents/caregivers, schools, and community providers. The Clinic Nurse has knowledge of child health; familiarity with additions and mental health concerns related to child and adolescent development. The position involves consultation and collaboration with interprofessional team members, client families, schools, stakeholders, and community partners. This position will contribute to a team of dynamic, innovative, and committed Addiction Counsellors, a Family Counsellor, a Mental Health Therapist, a Psychiatrist and Administrative Support staff. This position would provide peripheral support to the Learning & Development Clinic, focusing on supporting the Clinic team responsible for clients presenting with concurrent neurodivergent and mental health concerns. The successful candidate would need to hold knowledge of pediatric concerns related to neurodivergent and concurrent mental health diagnosis. The primary task in either clinic and, overall, would be to provide direct support to the psychiatrists and provide case management for their clients. Responsibilities include medication management, case conference, attending appointments and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team. To be successful in this role, you will be comfortable navigating the complexities of working across different systems and working with complex issues relating to the mental health of children, youth, and families. Some evening and weekend availability may be required.

As a Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN), you will provide leadership through a wide variety of nursing services to patients (clients, residents) for the purpose of promoting, maintaining or restoring health, mental health and preventing mental illness, injury and disability. You will teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and take necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. You will provide safe, quality, patient- and family-centered care, while reflecting shared vision and values. PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit holders will be paid $39.58 - $54.16 per hour. Upon obtaining a full licence, the rate of pay will be adjusted to the applicable Registered Nurse rate in accordance with UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii) as applicable.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification. Registered with CRNA. Nonviolent Crisis Intervention. Suicide Prevention Training. Training and experience in therapeutic effect/side effects of psychotropic agents and other medications. Knowledge of normal growth and development for children/adolescents. Knowledge of DSM-V-TR diagnoses for children. Experience supporting psychiatrists. Knowledge of pediatric assessment tools and behavioral rating scales/checklists. Required experience includes: Minimum of three years current experience working with children and adolescents (4 - 17) with Addictions and Mental Health Concerns. Minimum of three of the last five years' work experience in Pediatrics with children and adolescents (4-17) presenting with Neurodivergence, Intellectual or Developmental Disabilities. Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in a community nursing setting. Experience in acute mental health care would be an asset. Case Management experience. Connect Care experience. Strong communication, organizational, time management and self-initiative skills are desired.
