Your Opportunity:
Addiction & Mental Health Supported Housing (AMH Supported Housing) has an opportunity for an experienced and skilled RN/ RPN supporting residents in our supported housing sites. The position will work with a multi disciplinary team, along with staff from the contracted service provider. The AMH team is responsible for the provision of clinical services within the AMH scope. Community mental health experience is critical to be successful in this role. The RN/RPN is responsible for assessment, intervention and case management of residents from a holistic nursing lens. The position provides support to the psychiatrist who attends the site and provides consultation and liaison with external partners, such as pharmacy and outreach teams. You will contribute to the development and implementation of an individualized treatment plan for each resident, focusing on maximum functional ability and wellness. You will also provide crisis assessment and intervention from the mental health lens, as required. Our work is grounded in Recovery Oriented Care and a high level of clinical skill is required. Residents typically have chronic mental health/ substance use issues and a history of houselessness. Description:
As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS. PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit holders will be paid $39.58 - $54.16 per hour. Upon obtaining a full licence, the rate of pay will be adjusted to the applicable Registered Nurse rate in accordance with UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii) as applicable.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification. If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, you must complete the following free courses: CRNA Medication Management (Chapters 1-4), available at https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/learning-and-development/learning-modules/ and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification, available at https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Diploma/degree in Psychiatric Nursing/ Nursing Minimum 3-5 years' experience working in a community mental health setting is required. Current BLS Level C. Valid Class 5 driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge and ability to respond to cultural needs of diverse populations.
