Your Opportunity:
As a member of a multi-disciplinary team, the Registered Nurse - NICU is responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care for NICU patients in a tertiary level unit. The successful candidate performs a variety of nursing duties by administering safe and effective nursing care according to hospital/unit specific policies and nursing care standards. The incumbent will also serve as a preceptor to other staff members and students when necessary. NOTE: There are 2 positions available.
Description:
As a Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN), you will provide leadership through a wide variety of nursing services to patients (clients, residents) for the purpose of promoting, maintaining or restoring health, mental health and preventing mental illness, injury and disability. You will teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and take necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. You will provide safe, quality, patient- and family-centered care, while reflecting shared vision and values. PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit holders will be paid $39.58 - $54.16 per hour. Upon obtaining a full licence, the rate of pay will be adjusted to the applicable Registered Nurse rate in accordance with UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii) as applicable.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification. Additional Required Qualifications:

Ability to work independently and effectively in a multidisciplinary setting. Excellent collaboration, communication, interpersonal, organizational and problem-solving skills and abilities. Candidates must be highly motivated and self-directed.

Preferred Qualifications:

Current experience at the DS NICU and NRP certification. NICU, ICN, PICU, ICU, PCICU, Peds ER, Labor & Delivery experience preferred, acute care experience considered.
