Your Opportunity:
This is an opportunity for a Registered Nurse to work in the Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit caring for patients following cardiac surgery, heart, lung and heart/lung transplant surgery. The nurse as a member of the multidisciplinary team, is responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care. Decisions are made in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
Description:
As a Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN), you will provide leadership through a wide variety of nursing services to patients (clients, residents) for the purpose of promoting, maintaining or restoring health, mental health and preventing mental illness, injury and disability. You will teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and take necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. You will provide safe, quality, patient- and family-centered care, while reflecting shared vision and values. PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit holders will be paid $39.58 - $54.16 per hour. Upon obtaining a full licence, the rate of pay will be adjusted to the applicable Registered Nurse rate in accordance with UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii) as applicable.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification. Additional Required Qualifications:

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) - Health Care Provider Registration (Heart & Stroke) required. Applicant must demonstrate excellent assessment, documentation, clinical, organizational, and patient care skills. Applicant must have the ability to communicate findings in a concise and accurate manner as well as strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills. Must be able to identify own learning needs and seek guidance in professional practice where knowledge deficits occur. The applicant must successfully complete the OPACCA program. Applicant must also successfully pass the CVICU Unit specific exam. Applicant must meet physical requirements of this role, including ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
