Must the able to work to full scope of practice (physically, mentally and emotionally) on this very busy fast paced Gastrointestinal/Hepatology Unit. Must be able to work within posted position rotation and shifts. Must be able to push, pull and lift at least 50 lbs. 1 year of acute care medicine experience required. Basic computing skills required. Must possess excellent communication, critical thinking, and time management skills. Must be able to work in a collaborative team environment. Able to demonstrate in-depth knowledge of infection prevention and control guidelines and procedures.
Description:
As a Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN), you will provide leadership through a wide variety of nursing services to patients (clients, residents) for the purpose of promoting, maintaining or restoring health, mental health and preventing mental illness, injury and disability. You will teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and take necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. You will provide safe, quality, patient- and family-centered care, while reflecting shared vision and values. PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit holders will be paid $39.58 - $54.16 per hour. Upon obtaining a full licence, the rate of pay will be adjusted to the applicable Registered Nurse rate in accordance with UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii) as applicable.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification. Preferred Qualifications:

Connect Care trained applicants preferred. Recent GI and hepatology medicine experience, preferred. Greater than 2 years in acute care medicine nursing experience, preferred. Demonstrated commitment to lifelong learning, preferred.
