As a member of the multidisciplinary team, the Registered Nurse is responsible for the assessment, planning, Implementation and evaluation of patients undergoing endoscopic procedures (both GI and Pulmonary). Must be capable of performing a variety of duties in the administration of safe and effective nursing care in accordance with hospital policies and nursing care standards. Description:
As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS. PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit Holders shall be paid $39.58 /hour - $54.16/hour. Upon being entered into the register of Registered Nurses, the rate of pay shall be adjusted to the rate of pay applicable to a Registered Nurse in accordance with AHS/UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii) as applicable.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required: CRNA Medication Management - Chapters 1 - 4 (https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/%2Flearning-and-development%2Flearning-modules%2F) and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification (https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271#section-0) Additional Required Qualifications:
Certification and recent experience in direct IV medication administration and IV start proficiency are required. A demonstrated knowledge of Gastroenterology/Pulmonary medicine, as well as anatomy and physiology of the GI/Respiratory systems. Minimum 5 years of recent acute care inpatient nursing experience in a Hospital. Must be able to stand for long periods of time up to the entirety of a shift. Able to perform on call duties during days, evenings, weekends, and holidays required. Able to wear lead aprons for upwards of 1 hour at a time, multiple times during a 7.75-hour shift. Able to push patients (including bariatric patients) on stretchers at least 25 meters more than 28 times per day. Must be able to reposition sedated patients with minimal assistance. Able to stand in confined areas for the duration of the shift or callback. Able to push/pull large, heavy equipment for procedures performed out of the department. Able to apply upwards of 25 pounds of abdominal pressure for a minimum of 5 minutes, multiple times during a 7.75-hour shift. Computer literacy is required. Connect Care (EPIC) experience is required. Preferred Qualifications:
