Your Opportunity:
This position primarily supports the Geriatric Rehab Specialty Clinic (Seniors Clinic) at the Kaye Edmonton Clinic, it is part of a larger portfolio including Family Medicine Clinics and Neurosciences Program. As a Registered Nurse you will provide a variety of nursing services to patients and families, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. Working in Seniors clinics, the Registered Nurse (RN) will participate and support in the development, implementation and ongoing evaluation for quality care. The RN works collaboratively within an inter-disciplinary team, with other health care professionals, community agencies and key stakeholders to further develop, explore and implement strategies to address Senior's health management. Self-motivated and results orientated, the RN possesses expertise and competence in clinical practice, leadership, counseling, teaching and presentation skills relative to the management senior's health. Note in shift pattern - This shift pattern is currently Monday/Wednesday/Friday in one week and Tuesday/Thursday in the second.

As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS. PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit Holders shall be paid $35.87/hour - $43.82/hour. Upon being entered into the register of Registered Nurses, the rate of pay shall be adjusted to the rate of pay applicable to a Registered Nurse in accordance with AHS/UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii) as applicable. Required Qualifications:
Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required: CRNA Medication Management - Chapters 1 - 4 (https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/%2Flearning-and-development%2Flearning-modules%2F) and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification (https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271#section-0) Additional Required Qualifications:
A minimum of 3 years of regular and recent (within the last 5 years) of Geriatric Assessment nursing experience (eg specific outpatient experience working with specialized assessments for elderly patients, inpatient General Internal Medicine/Seniors units). Ability to prioritize and multitask. Ability to push, pull, and lift equipment of up to 50 lbs. Must be able to participate in patient assessments, moving and handling. Must be able to sit for prolonged periods and be competent with computer skills. Must be able to demonstrate excellent communication and team skills. Must successfully complete Connect Care training. Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience in a Seniors' Clinic, especially within the outpatient setting (one that is live on Connect Care).
