Alberta Health Services (AHS) is excited to be participating in the Canadian Association of Schools of Nursing (CASN)\'s Residency Program in an effort to further support the integration of new nurses like yourself at the Royal Alexandra Hospital (RAH)! The RAH is one of two Tertiary Trauma Centers in Edmonton & one of the busiest Emergency Departments in Canada. The RAH serves a diverse community, including some of our province\'s most vulnerable & marginalized populations. This unique opportunity at the RAH will recruit graduated Registered Nurses into the Women\'s Health department. This pilot program welcomes applications from new graduate nurses who are eligible for, or have registered with, CRNA as a RN/GN within the last 3 months. The Nurse Residency Program is a 9-month experience where you will be paired with an experienced mentor as you work to transition into practice. You will participate in supporting education provided by CASN through virtual workshops & simulations. As a member of the Nurse Residency Program, you will also contribute to the research evaluation of the CASN program. This great opportunity will accept 2 4 new graduate nurses looking to gain excellent healthcare experience! Upon the conclusion of this 9-month residency program, you are encouraged to apply on vacant nursing positions within RAH. The Graduate Nurse will be guided by their level of education, expertise, experience, demonstrated skill level, AHS job description, & will be supported by their mentor. As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS. PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit Holders shall be paid $35.87/hour - $43.82/hour. Upon being entered into the register of Registered Nurses, the rate of pay shall be adjusted to the rate of pay applicable to a Registered Nurse in accordance with AHS/UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii) as applicable.
