ROLE: Registered Nurse - Dialysis Trained | Agency Travel Contract | Northern Ontario
Full time contract
$90/hour
$50 meal per diem
Start Date: June/2023
3 Month Contract
Accommodation and Travel included
$50/month coffee allowance
$100 every 3 months self care allowance

QUALIFICATIONS NECESSARY:
1. Registered Nursing License in good standing with the Provincial College of Nurses
2. Current CPR
3. Minimum 3 years experience in Dialysis unit
4. Vulnerable Sector Screen renewed within the year
5. Professional Liability Insurance
6 . *Dialysis Certification is an Asset*

SKILLS & ABILITY:
1. High level of proficiency with Microsoft office applications, hospital software applications.
2. Ability to think critically and multitask in a high-pressure situation.
3. Ability to organize and manage an office setting and work with all.
4. Experience supervising staff including performance management, and task direction.
5. Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a team member; establish and maintain
cooperative and collaborative working relationships with members of the interdisciplinary team, and
exercise judgment by participating in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of
patient care according to college standards.
6. Behavior consistent with the hospital\xe2\x80\x99s Standards of Performance.

BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Performs according to the Standards of Professional Practice set out by the Provincial College of Nurses of and in compliance with the policies, procedures and standards of the facility
2. Accepts clinical responsibility and professional accountability for the care delivered to assigned
patients.
3. Participates as a member of the interdisciplinary health care team, fulfilling responsibilities as a
member of the nursing discipline.
4. Complies with The Ethical Framework for Nurses

SPECIFIC DUTIES:
1. Participate and collaborate with other health care providers in the provision of patient care.
2. Reviews physician orders for dialysis patients
3. Collects pre-treatment dialysis data, and reviews patient records prior to dialysis
4. Conducts pre-dialysis patient assessment including obtaining patient vital signs and assessing the patient\' s vascular access, laboratory findings, and the patient\' s general health
5. Care of chronic and acute hemodialysis patients.
6. Patient teaching
7. Initiation and discontinuation of dialysis, preparation of dialysis, preparation of dialysis machines, accessing venous accesses and central lines, monitoring of dialysis treatments, and troubleshooting.
6. Carry out all work assignments safely and be knowledgeable of and in compliance with relevant
regulations, policies and procedures in compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Act and its
regulations, as well as other legislation as applicable.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

1. Human Resource, Corporation, and Department Policies
2. Must provide satisfactory vulnerable sector check
3. Must maintain Registered Nurse class license with the Provincial College of Nurses
