Job Description
Summary of Duties:
Provides direct patient care to patients in the General Medicine/Nephrology PSU in accordance with standards of the College of Nurses organization. Embracing the philosophy of Person Centered Care;
Collaborates with patients and families and multidisciplinary team to plan and implement patient care needs and documents information according to appropriate standards Engages in continuous learning and improvement activities in the work environment by providing feedback regarding areas progressing well and those requiring improvement
Qualifications:
Current Ontario Registration, B.Sc.N. preferred Successful completion of pre-interview quiz. Passing mark 80% Current B.C.L.S. Preferably with 2 years of acute care experience within the last 5 years Preferably with 5 years of general Internal Medicine experience Successful completion of Nephrology 1 or demonstrated nephrology experience in lieu of Demonstrates knowledge of Peritoneal Dialysis (PD) Demonstrated knowledge in Person Centred Care approach and principles Demonstrated ability to implement and champion change Ability to set priorities in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment Good interpersonal and communication skills Demonstrated innovative practice in and appreciation of the unique needs and care of older adults * Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and evidence-based practice
