The successful candidate will work within the Home Dialysis Program training home hemodialysis patients to perform their own dialysis and provide ongoing support to patients at
Candidates will be required to visit to the patients in their homes as part of the training and support
Candidates will be expected to assume on-call duties
Graduate of a recognized College or School of Nursing
Baccalaureate degree completed or in progress required.
Current certification of competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario
C-Neph (C) designation required
Current BCLS
Minimum of 5 years recent nephrology experience with at least 4 years experience in hemodialysis
Solid C.A.P.D. and APD (Cycler) experience an asset
Excellent skills in leadership, communication/interpersonal relations, assessment, critical thinking and patient teaching/training
Demonstrated ability to be self directed and work independently
Commitment to ongoing professional development within an evolving field
Ability to apply the principles of adult education and demonstrated teaching skills required
Candidates must provide their own transportation for visits to patients homes and between CVH sites
Availability to work all shifts and flexibility in work schedule is required to meet patient's needs for training and home visits.
Successful attendance and performance required.
