It is essential that all staff and physicians receive training and understand their roles and responsibilities in this field.Summary of responsibilitiesAs a member of the interdisciplinary team, the role of Registered Nurse (RN) at CCH is to deliver safe, effective, patient-centered, ethical, and evidenced-based nursing care. The overall function of the RN is to assist our patients and community to manage clinical conditions and transitions and maximize their self-care abilities. The RN also acts as a resource for members of the care team as well as embody a culture of caregiver inclusion in the patient\'s plan of care.Requirements of the job
  • Undergraduate degree (4 year) or community college diploma in nursing
  • Certificate of registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Current certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • Valid Basic Life Support (BCLS) certification

  • Demonstrated regular, punctual attendance
  • Demonstrated commitment to patient safety
  • Clinical knowledge and skills with central lines
  • Two (2) or more years Surgical experience (within the last 3 years)
  • Two (2) or more years of Critical Care experience (within last 3 years)
  • PACU course or enrolled and completed within 1 year of hire
  • Completion of critical care self-learning modules
  • Functional level in both official languages (oral and written in English; oral in French - and testing completed)
