Registered Nurses practice as members of a multi-disciplinary team in accordance with the Public Hospitals Act, the Regulated Health Professions Act, the Nursing Act, and the Standards set by the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO). REQUIREMENTS:




Current certificate of competence as Registered Nurse (RN) from the College of Nurses of Ontario Certificate Program in Psychiatric Nursing or Canadian Nursing Association (CNA) Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing Certification or a minimum of two (2) years current experience working in a mental health setting Minimum of two (2) years of progressive and current experience in Community Mental Health and addictions Basic cardiac life support certification Valid Class G Driver's License and access to a vehicle Demonstrated excellence in planning and delivery of education sessions to individuals or groups Demonstrated leadership skills in the initiation, coordination of and participation in team/family conferences and clinical activities Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and with respect in an oral and written format with patients, public, colleagues and other health disciplines Demonstrated effective problem solving and critical thinking skills Demonstrated and proven ability to work in a collaborative care model with all members of the health Demonstrated knowledge and application of the College of Nurses standards of practice Demonstrated commitment to continuing education activities supporting ongoing professional learning in nursing Working knowledge of computer applications and software such as Microsoft Office Suite Mental Health First Aid is an asset Formal training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy is an asset Embodies the LEAN ideology by actively and continually seeking opportunities for continuous improvement Must have demonstrated ability to meet the attendance standards of the Hospital Bilingualism preferred (French/English)
