Your Opportunity:
As an Nurse Specialized in Wound, Ostomy and Continence (NSWOC) you will provide front-line clinical support and consultation, as well as patient, family and staff education related to incontinence, ostomy, wound and skin care. You will report to the department Manager for Central Zone, working within a remotely centralized supportive team of NSWOC's. You will demonstrate your expertise within the interdisciplinary team to support an integrated and holistic approach to client care, health promotion and maintenance, while utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making skills across the life span and continuum of care. You will provide safe, quality client-and family-centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.
Description:
As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS. PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit holders will be paid $39.58 - $54.16 per hour. Upon obtaining a full licence, the rate of pay will be adjusted to the applicable Registered Nurse rate in accordance with UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii) as applicable.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification. Additional Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited nursing education program.

Preferred Qualifications:

Minimum five (5) years' within the last seven (7) years' nursing experience. Minimum two (2) years' within the last five (5) years' wound and ostomy experience. Ability to meet the physical demands of the job. Possession of a valid driver's license and access to a motor vehicle in good repair for work-related travel.
