Alberta Health Services is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join the Diagnostic Imaging Department at our new, state-of-the-art cancer centre. This Nurse Navigator role offers the chance to work in a dynamic, multi-disciplinary environment supporting Theranostics, PET imaging, research, and care coordination Key Responsibilities: Deliver direct patient care and monitor procedures. Administer medications and obtain pre-procedure lab work. Maintain emergency supplies and departmental medications. Coordinate Nuclear Medicine appointments and follow-ups. Develop and share patient education materials. Review lab results and support clinical trials. Process special access forms and order radiopharmaceuticals. Description:
As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS. PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit holders will be paid $39.58 - $54.16 per hour. Upon obtaining a full licence, the rate of pay will be adjusted to the applicable Registered Nurse rate in accordance with UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii) as applicable.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification. If you have not practiced as a Registered Psychiatric Nurse within the past five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required prior to employment: CRNA Medication Management (Chapters 1-4): https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/learning-and-development/learning-modules NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification: https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271.

Additional Required Qualifications:

A minimum of five years' current nursing experience, at least three of which are Critical Care environment in a tertiary level setting required. Previous experience in DI required. Certification in IV therapy, Central Venous Catheter (CVC) Access and Care, Point of Care Test (POCT) blood glucose monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation required. Must be able to perform frequent, multiple patients transfers each shift.

Preferred Qualifications:

Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) an asset. Emergency, Intensive Care Unit/ Critical Care Unit (ICU/CCU) experience preferred. Previous oncology nursing experience is desirable. Research experience desired. Radiation safety course desired. Experience in Hemodynamic monitoring, medication admin, and PCA Pumps asset.
