Your Opportunity:

Reporting to the Manager of Child & Adolescent Addiction & Mental Health, the Registered Nurse provides care within the partnership program (Personalized Care in Community) for youth (ages 12-18yrs) with complex mental health issues and associated developmental, cognitive and behavioural disorders. Service provision occurs within the partnership program to meet the needs of the patients who are currently residing in this community based residential program. Service is provided in the context of family centered care and will include liaison and collaboration with community agencies, children\'s services and education. The Registered Nurse may also be involved in case conferences, staff meetings, professional development activities, program planning, and liaise with other AHS and community partners and assume other related duties as required. Appropriate documentation and statistical data collection is required.

Description:

As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS. PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit Holders shall be paid $35.87/hour - $43.82/hour. Upon being entered into the register of Registered Nurses, the rate of pay shall be adjusted to the rate of pay applicable to a Registered Nurse in accordance with AHS/UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii) as applicable. Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required: CRNA Medication Administration Certificate (https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/%2Flearning-and-development%2Flearning-modules%2F) and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification (https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271#section-0) Additional Required Qualifications:

At least 3 years\' experience as a Registered Nurse working with children, under age 18 in mental health (inpatient and/or outpatient setting). This must include mental health assessment and treatment of youth as well as mental health risk assessment and safety planning knowledge and experience. Successful collaboration within a multidisciplinary team in health care. Training in patient and family centered care and trauma informed care. Proven ability to apply these in professional practice with children experiencing severe mental health challenges. Preferred Qualifications:

BLS and NVCI training. Connect Care training an asset. Brain Story Certification. Experience working in a community based mental health setting with proven record of effective clinical decision making with a multidisciplinary team.
