Summary of Duties
Responsible for primary care of trauma patients. The main functions of the RN include, but are not limited to: assessment, intervention, education and patient advocacy. The RN supports the Philosophy of Person Centred Care concept and principles and the Mission and Values of Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre. The RN works closely with other members of the multidisciplinary team.
Qualifications/Skills
Current Certificate of Competence [Ontario]
Current B.C.L.S.
B.Sc.N preferred
Post-Basic Neuro course strongly recommended
Current trauma experience required
Experience working in a fast-paced environment; able to manage multiple demands and changing priorities
Surgical experience with skills in pre-op and post-op care and patient/family teaching
Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and communication skills with patients, families and co-workers
Excellent assessment skills
Ability to work effectively as a team member
