Brooks/Bassano has an exciting opportunity for a Registered Nurse in a Benefit Eligible Casual Employee (BECE) position. A BECE position is a hybrid that combines the flexibility of casual employment and the mutual commitment of a regular position with Benefits. As a member of the CoAct team, you will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide nursing care in a blended acute/ER and continuing care environment. This environment is suitable if you enjoy the challenge of providing a broad spectrum of nursing care and have experience in such settings as ER, med-surg, cardiac, and labour and delivery. You will be depended upon for leadership to LPNs and Health Care Attendants in caring for our acute and long term care clients. To be successful you will demonstrate your critical thinking and problem solving ability and have achievement in continual professional development and maintaining clinical competence. You will be responsible for the assessment, design, and implementation of continuing care services for a caseload of clients residing in this setting. Registered Nurse will play a key role in resident care planning (interdisciplinary including resident and family) and allowing resident to achieve their goals and enhance their quality of life. This environment is suitable for candidates who have a strong interest and skills in providing care to the elderly client. This position qualifies for the Canada Student Loan Forgiveness Program, which reimburses $4,000 per year (up to a maximum of 5 years) for working in the rural Bassano setting.

As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS. PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit Holders shall be paid $35.87/hour - $43.82/hour. Upon being entered into the register of Registered Nurses, the rate of pay shall be adjusted to the rate of pay applicable to a Registered Nurse in accordance with AHS/UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii) as applicable.
