Rotary Inpatient is an Alternate Health Facility primarily caring for Alternate Level of Care (ALC) patients, who no longer require the same level of acute care in hospital. The successful candidate will be hired into the Float Pool and will be assigned to the Rotary Inpatient temporarily and will return to the Float Pool once deemed appropriate (i.e. closure of the unit).


As the Registered Nurse (RN) you are a professional caregiver who is responsible and accountable for providing quality patient care within a delivery model in accordance with the philosophy, policies and standards of care of the RVH, the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) and all relevant legislation.


In this role you will assess, plan, coordinate and manage care of select Alternate Level of Care (ALC) patients and families in conjunction with an interdisciplinary team and according to hospital and department policies and procedures. Additionally, you will act as the Charge Nurse and your role will coordinate the daily direct care delivery activities of staff and ensures compliance with Health Centre and Unit standards, policies and procedures.


Specifically, as the Charge Nurse you will have a patient assignment while coordinating daily administrative duties including daily assignments, representing the department in patient flow conversations on the weekend, and connecting with the Staffing department as needed. You will provide leadership and offer guidance and support to the team.


As a qualified candidate you will have the following job requirements:



Current Certificate of Registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario Current BCLS Additional formal educational requirements/certifications as required in department Membership in professional association specific to nursing service area Computer literacy in current software applications Demonstrated commitment to the professional growth and development of self and others Demonstrated commitment to the concepts of Continuous Quality Improvement and Customer Service
