MSSU is a 15 bed inpatient unit that cares for patients who have a variety of acute and complex medical patients. The team consists of physicians, registered nurses, registered practical nurses, patient care assistants, dietitians, pharmacists, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, discharge planners, social worker, a respiratory therapist, a speech language pathologist, spiritual care, patient service clerks, and volunteers. Each member has a specific role to play to ensure seamless integration of care and together, they strive to provide exceptional care to each patient and family.
The Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver who is responsible and accountable for providing quality patient care within a delivery model in accordance with the philosophy, policies and standards of care of the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre (RVH), the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) and all relevant legislation.
As the RN, you will care for patients in the Medical Short Stay Unit (MSSU). In this role you will assess, plan, coordinate and manage care of patients and families in conjunction with an interdisciplinary team and according to hospital and department policies and procedures.
As a qualified candidate you will have the following job requirements:
Current Certificate of Registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario
Current BCLS
Additional formal educational requirements/certifications as required in department
Membership in professional association specific to nursing service area
Computer literacy in current software applications
Demonstrated commitment to the professional growth and development of self and others
Demonstrated commitment to the concepts of Continuous Quality Improvement and Customer Service
