There is an opportunity for a Registered Nurse to join a team that will go the extra mile for you at the Cold Lake Healthcare Centre in the Operating Room. This is a busy surgical department where you will be part of a team committed to a positive work culture and high work ethic while providing the best patient and family centered care. Your excellent critical thinking, organizational and time management skills will be used daily. You will have the responsibility of providing care for the patient in all phases of surgery: pre-operatively, intraoperatively, and post-operatively as the circulating and scrub nurse, post-anesthesia care nurse, endoscopic nurse, and potentially pre- and post-endoscopy and day surgery nurse. Collaborating on the delivery of holistic, comprehensive care to meet the needs of individuals and families. You will demonstrate current nursing knowledge, efficient communication, and leadership skills. You will provide a wide variety of procedures and surgical services to patients and families in a diverse population. Cold Lake is situated on the traditional lands of Treaty 6 and those of the Mxc3xa9tis, Cold Lake offers an excellent quality of life for all ages. Description:
As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS. PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit Holders shall be paid $35.87/hour - $43.82/hour. Upon being entered into the register of Registered Nurses, the rate of pay shall be adjusted to the rate of pay applicable to a Registered Nurse in accordance with AHS/UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii) as applicable. Required Qualifications:
Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required: CRNA Medication Management - Chapters 1 - 4 (https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/%2Flearning-and-development%2Flearning-modules%2F) and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification (https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271#section-0) Additional Required Qualifications:
Minimum 2 years of front-line nursing experience in the last 5 years. The place of work is in a community designated for Canada Student Loan forgiveness as outlined in https://www.canada.ca/en/services/benefits/education/student-aid/grants-loans/repay/assistance/doctors-nurses/amount.html. You may be eligible for the Rural Federal Student Loan Forgiveness Program if you meet other eligibility requirements. Preferred Qualifications:
OR experience will take priority. Perioperative program is preferred.
