Your Opportunity:This position is currently in Grande Prairie. You will be working in conjunction with our NP & LPNs as well as with HCAs who are supervised by the Personal Support Coordinators. Additionally, you will work with Allied Health, community paramedics, EMS, lodge & other community partners. You will be required to work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team as well as with the clients and their support networks. You will provide care to clients assessing unmet healthcare/nursing needs, create care plans and authorizations for nursing services including delegation of tasks to the HCAs and LPNs. You will assist the HCAs trouble-shoot issues with the medications assistance program (MAP) & work with the LPNs to identify risks to clients and possible interventions. You will be going to lodges, designated living support facilities of 3/4/4D and community clients\' homes, often independently. You will bring to the position strong nursing skillset in assessment & critical thinking, communication skills, positive attitude & willingness to work as part of a team as well as an ability to work independently. You will actively participate in quality improvement initiatives/chair in assigned committees/working groups/meetings. Note: you are required to workdays, evenings, nights, weekends and on call. When working evenings, you will be working with limited staff and nights/on call overnight (only one nurse works so you are alone) where you will be called out into the community/lodge/DSL settings to address client issues. You must have available, for work purposes at all times, a reliable vehicle with business insurance. You must be comfortable driving in any weather/road conditions/night driving.Description:As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS. PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit Holders shall be paid $35.87/hour - $43.82/hour. Upon being entered into the register of Registered Nurses, the rate of pay shall be adjusted to the rate of pay applicable to a Registered Nurse in accordance with AHS/UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii) as applicable.
