The purpose of this position is to provide leadership, engagement, training, and support to staff utilizing the LTCIMS (long term care information management system) technologies in public long term care facilities. The position is responsible for the leadership and coordination of clinical adoption and ongoing engagement including workflow issues, investigation and resolution of application problems and enhancements in relation to use of information technologies. The incumbent will possess a thorough knowledge of physician, nursing and allied health workflow, and acute clinical business processes and be competent in building effective working relationships with the end users.
This position reports temporarily to the Director of eHealth, Clinical Operations, until the LTCIMS Manager is in place.
Duties will include:
Provide leadership and interpersonal expertise by being visible, accessible and communicating effectively with all levels of the organization, and maintaining an engaged relationship with healthcare providers;
Consult, provide direction, support and consultative advice to clinical, training and specialist staff within the support structure;
Incorporates evidence of best practice as it related to clinical practice and the use of information technology
Identify and document clinical practices: including policy, system and/or workflow issues;
Responsible to ensure clinical requests are provincial where appropriate and are approved by the appropriate clinical community prior to initializing change process;
Participate as an active member in change control;
Develop training materials to facilitate adoption and user understanding of the LTCIMS software functionality;
Use utilization dashboards to target training/retraining efforts;
Ensure provincial standardization is met within the system as new functionality is implemented;
Participate in the development and implementation of information system business plans, security, communications, change management, quality and risk management policies and procedures;
Help develop support scripts for the service center in response to end user support
Support the development and dissemination of end user educational and communication materials;
Facilitate communication between technical teams, healthcare providers, and end-users. Assist with adhoc resources for purpose of testing and training
Travel will be required;
Other duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must have a university degree in Nursing.
Active or eligible for registration with the College of Registered Nurses and Midwives of Prince Edward Island.
Demonstrated leadership and change management experience as it relates to ITS.
Extensive clinical experience and comprehensive knowledge of healthcare provider workflow is required.
Considerable experience in the development or delivery of adult education plans.
Experience in developing and delivering educational programs to the public is required.
Experience with information technology systems and knowledge of CIS and/or CHR is considered an asset
Excellent demonstrated communication, facilitation and interpersonal skills is required.
Be self-directed and work independently with minimal supervision is required.
Experience with MS Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint is required.
Must possess a valid drivers' license and have access to a reliable vehicle.
Other Qualifications:
Training and/or certification in adult education would be an asset.
Experience working with healthcare providers during the implementation of an information technology system is preferred.
Proven leadership and change management experience is an asset.
Additional relevant education and experience will be considered an asset.

Salary Range:
$39.52 - $49.37 per hour
Bi-Weekly Hours:
75.0 Hours Bi-Weekly / Monday To Friday Days, May Require Evenings / Nights / Weekends / Standby & On Call
