Job Description

We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Registered Early Childhood Educator to join our team.

Location is in our School Age before and after school program located in Queen Elizabeth Public School. The hours are 6.5 hours per day split shift. Hours are 6:30-9:00am AND 2:00-6:00pm.

Shift may change depending on the needs of the centre.

Candidate will be working with school age children between the ages of 6-12. Previous experience working with this age group is mandatory.

The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment for school age children. You will plan and implement engaging activities and lessons that foster children's interest.

The ideal candidate will have the ability to work effectively with children from diverse backgrounds, including those with special needs such as ADHD, ODD, and autism. They will also be responsible for creating fun, inclusive activities that ensure every child feels welcomed and engaged.

Under the direction of the Supervisors you will work closely with room partner to plan and develop age-appropriate programs to enhance the cognitive, physical, social, and emotional develop according to Organization's program statement and philosophy and the Child Care Early Years Act, using Early Learning for Every Child Today (ELECT), and How Does Learning Happen?, Quality First and Public Health Guidelines Registered Early Childhood Educators are expected to develop and maintain professional relationships with families.

Requirements:

A diploma or degree in Early Childhood Education Current registration with the College of Early Childhood Educators Experience working with children Standard First Aid and CPR certification Current Criminal Reference Check including Vulnerable Sector Check Two Step TB test / Up to Date Immunizations Knowledge of child development (How Does Learning Happen? DROC and best practices in early childhood education) Strong interpersonal and communication skills Ability to work effectively in a team environment
$30.11 per hour (this is inclusive of a split shift bonus and wage enhancement)
