Job Overview:
We are seeking a keen, skilled and compassionate licensed Registered Dietitian to join our multi-disciplinary Medical Weight and Wellness team (WMW Wellness). Our team includes administrative support, an educator who offers behavioural therapy classes (who is also a Registered Dietitian), pharmacists and physicians. As a dietitian, you will play a crucial role in supporting clients with evidence based lifestyle change. Experience is preferred, but we will consider a new graduate.

The goal of the program is to enhance quality of life for each individual working with the team. We support people in living the healthiest lifestyle they can enjoy and keep up forever. This looks different for everyone. We do not focus on the scale or specific weight targets. We acknowledge and embrace health at every body shape and size, and value positive body image and self compassion.

We do not promote a specific diet or exercise for everyone, but rather meet people where they are right now and work on sustainable, long-lasting changes. We follow the Obesity Canada guidelines, offering evidence-based treatment.

The bulk of the work is virtual, and with some on-site work (3 days per month at MSK Centre). The hours are flexible and expected to increase as our program continues to expand (if interested in more hours). There are virtual evening groups (5:30-7pm) that run once to twice per month or so, and we request availability for a few appointments later in the day (ie. last appointment 6:30pm). This ends up looking like one later shift per week. It is a salaried position, $60/ hour.

MUST BE LICENSED WITH THE COLLEGE OF DIETITIANS OF ONTARIO AND HAVE YOUR OWN LIABILITY INSURANCE.



Responsibilities:

conduct nutritional assessments and offer one to one medical nutrition therapy offer behaviour change therapy, mindful eating educate clients on nutrition, portion control, and healthy habits (one-to-one and in a virtual group setting) monitor progress and work with clients to build on lifestyles changes over time collaborate with healthcare professionals to coordinate care and provide comprehensive support stay up-to-date on the latest research and developments in the field of nutrition maintain accurate and confidential client records using electronic medical records systems
Skills:
- Proficient in computer operation, including the use of electronic medical records systems
- Strong interpersonal skills to provide excellent customer service and build rapport with clients
- Knowledge of dietary guidelines, nutritional principles
- Ability to assess clients' nutritional needs, meet clients where they are and work together to improve nutrition/ health, strong counselling skills necessary
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written and a self-starter personality
