Position Description

In collaboration with the health care team, the Registered Dietitian will provide nutritional care to children/families by assessing nutritional status and identifying, preventing and rectifying nutritional problems. The area of coverage is primarily the NICU (another program yet to be determined).
Here's What You'll Get To Do
:
Assessment of infants in the NICU with attention to medical complications, and effects of nutrition/ malnutrition on growth & development
Provide appropriate and cost-efficient nutritional therapy to patients, including initiation and monitoring of parenteral and enteral nutrition support
Monitor the effectiveness of nutrition intervention and care
Act as a resource to the Division of NICU, patients/families, as well as other health care professionals and referral centers on nutrition education
Here's What You'll Need:
Baccalaureate degree in Nutrition.
Registration with the College of Dietitians of Ontario.
Five years' clinical- hospital experience preferred.
Experience in Pediatrics.
Experience in NICU/Critical Care setting - 1 year + experience is preferred.
Ability to collaborate effectively as a member of the health care team and to take initiative and leadership.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, creativity and organizational skills.
Demonstrated ability to utilize critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Demonstrated attention to detail and efficient time management.
Demonstrated belief in lifelong learning and evidence-based practice.
Demonstrated commitment to advancing and aiding in the pursuit of equity, diversity and inclusion objectives.
