ORGANIZATION BACKGROUND
The
John Noble Home
is the municipal long term care home with shared ownership by the Corporation of the City of Brantford and the Corporation of the County of Brant. The John Noble Home consists of 156 long term care beds with 40 additional beds scheduled for Q1 of 2026, a community-based day program and a senior's apartment building.
POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the Administrator, the Registered Dietitian (RD) directs the nutritional care component of the Nutrition Services Department to ensure optimal nutrition care for all residents. The Registered Dietitian provides nutrition care in accordance with government legislation and in coordination with the Director of Nutrition/Support Services (NM).
All work is conducted in accordance with the policies and procedures of the John Noble Home, the Fixing Long Term Care Act 2021(FLTCA), Food Premises Act, WHMIS, HACCP, Ministry of Labour and the Ontario College of Dietitians Code of Ethics. The employee will perform all duties in a safe and healthy manner, following the Occupational Health and Safety Act as outlined in the organization's Health and Safety and Infection Control policies.
QUALIFICATIONS
Undergraduate degree in Food and Nutrition or equivalent from a recognized university.
Completion of a dietetic internship, Master's or Diploma practicum program recognized by Dietitians of Canada.
Current registration in good standing with the College of Dietitians of Ontario.
Minimum 2 years of experience in a long-term care setting preferred.
In-depth knowledge of therapeutic diets, dementia care, dysphagia, enteral nutrition, wound care, diabetes, renal disease, and food allergies/intolerances.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, PointClickCare, and MealSuite.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team.
Must provide proof of Professional Liability Insurance, Vulnerable Sector Police Check, and TB Skin Testing prior to start.
Contractor is responsible for their own remittances and deductions (CRA, CPP, EI, WSIB).
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Complete and document initial and ongoing nutrition assessments for all residents.
Conduct a minimum of 30 minutes of on-site clinical care per resident per month.
Develop and monitor individualized plans of care and therapeutic diets.
Review and approve menus and provide nutrient verification reports to the Administrator.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team on care plans and quality improvement initiatives.
Attend care conferences and participate in internal committees such as Accreditation and HPAC.
Provide staff and resident education and complete audits related to nutrition care.
Ensure compliance with FLTCA, Food Premises Act, HACCP, WHMIS, and internal policies.
The successful candidate must maintain ability to travel in a timely manner to other offices, work locations or sites as authorized by the Corporation for business reasons. As a condition of employment, candidates must submit a current Police and Vulnerable Sectors check (dated within the last three months) from their local police service for approval by the Corporation. Applicants may be required to participate in a skills assessment process.
Rate of Pay:
$60.00 per hour based on a 37.5-hour work week.
