We are searching for a Dietitian to join our Allied Health Services Team based in the Halifax Regional Municipality, Nova Scotia.

About the Opportunity
xc2xb7 Assists in the development of menus in accordance with therapeutic nutrition guidelines.
xc2xb7 Assesses resident's nutritional status on admission and at least semi-annually; reviews monthly weights and follows up as required.
xc2xb7 Addresses client's individual dietary concerns.
xc2xb7 Establishes and maintains personal nutritional needs of each client.
xc2xb7 Completes texture modification assessments on referral;
xc2xb7 Oversees and plans special nutrition needs for special diets, allergies and disease conditions.
xc2xb7 Presents staff and client education sessions on nutrition and other related topics based on indicators and identified needs.
xc2xb7 Communicates client nutrition care plans to clients/family/staff as appropriate.
xc2xb7 Collects and enters appropriate data into database;
xc2xb7 Documents clinical nutrition indicators monthly.
xc2xb7 Administers the operating budget for dietary services, overseeing the preparation of purchase orders, verification and approval of invoices for payment
About You
In addition to placing high value on continuous improvement, collaboration and accountability, you bring:
xc2xb7 Bachelor of Science in Nutrition;
xc2xb7 Membership with professional association;
xc2xb7 Excellent communication, computer and organizational skills.
xc2xb7 Experience in a long-term care setting is considered an asset.
xc2xb7 A passion for the healthcare sector and/or ensuring seniors have access to quality accommodations, services and care.
