Design dental devices Modify dental devices including full or partial dentures, orthodontic appliances, inlays, onlays, clasps and bands Prepare plaster models and moulds Supervise technical staff Train other dental technicians Cast gold or metal alloys for bridges and denture bases Perform administrative functions for the dental laboratory Mould wax over dentures set-up Finish metal framework of dentures Supervise students in training Prepare wax bite-blocks and impression trays Pack plastic material in moulds to form full or partial dentures Make orthodontic bands from metal and alloys Polish and buff dentures
