We are an established small, modern general dentistry office that is owner operated with a nice team of individuals, seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our team in a permanent part time position for Wednesdays 8:45- 5:15 and Thursdays 7:45-4:15, to replace one of our dedicated hygienists who is moving away. Days and exact times negotiable.
In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing high-quality dental care to our patients. You will be responsible for performing dental cleanings, educating patients on oral hygiene practices, and assisting the dental team in delivering exceptional care. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to patient comfort and satisfaction within a team setting.
We follow the current BC dental fee guide for general dentistry, with a strong emphasis towards best patient outcomes, and that they receive good value for the services we provide.
Responsibilities
Conduct thorough comprehensive dental cleanings and examinations to assess oral health.
Provide patient education on proper oral hygiene techniques and preventive care.
Working with periodontists for perio re-evaluations and maintenance therapy
Maintain accurate patient records using Cleardent software and ensure all medical terminology is correctly documented.
Collaborate with the dental team to develop treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs.
Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and maintain a clean working environment. Stay current with the latest advancements in dental hygiene practices.
Maintain an organized and clean work environments, assisting with sterilization and room turn over between patients.
Skills
Licensed as a registered dental hygienist in the Province of British Columbia, with certification in local anesthetic administration. Ideally the successful candidate should have a minimum of 2 years of clinical practice, unless Bachelor in Dental Hygiene degree or equivalent.
Proficiency in using Cleardent software for patient management and record keeping.
Strong customer service skills to foster positive relationships with patients - strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
A genuine drive for continuous learning and professional growth.
Familiarity with medical terminology relevant to dental practices.
Excellent interpersonal skills, demonstrating empathy and professionalism in patient interactions.
