Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated, seasoned Registered Dental Hygienist to join our dental practice with a minimum 5+ years experience. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care, perform thorough dental cleanings and assist in maintaining optimal oral health for patients of all ages. This role requires a strong knowledge of dental procedures, infection control protocols and excellent communication skills to ensure a positive patient experience. Familiarity with Abeldent is an asset.

This is a part-time position for Tuesdays, Wednesdays full days plus 1/2 day Friday.

Responsibilities

Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup Conduct patient assessments by taking vital signs and reviewing medical histories Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions Utilize medical imaging tools for diagnostic purposes while maintaining strict infection control standards Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations Support the dental team with documentation review and record management Follow aseptic techniques to ensure a sterile environment during all procedures Assist with medical records management and ensure compliance with privacy standards Demonstrate proficiency in dental terminology and understanding of anatomy relevant to dental care Ability to sharpen and maintain instruments for optimum use in treating patients

Qualifications

Valid license as a Registered Dental Hygienist in accordance with provincial regulations Proven experience in dental office settings, including general dentistry and pediatric dentistry preferred Knowledge of infection control protocols, aseptic techniques, and sterilization procedures Strong understanding of medical terminology, vital signs, medical imaging, and patient assessment techniques Excellent communication skills to educate patients and collaborate with team members Familiarity with HIPAA regulations concerning patient privacy and medical records management
