Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling, root planing, polishing, and fluoride treatments, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions to inform treatment plans.
Take medical imaging such as x-rays, ensuring proper technique and image quality while adhering to infection control protocols.
Manage dental records accurately within electronic medical record system (ClearDent), maintaining confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to foster long-term oral health habits.
Review documentation for accuracy and completeness, including medical coding and treatment notes.
Maintain aseptic techniques and infection control standards throughout all procedures to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
Monitor and record vital signs during appointments to assess patient health status before treatment.
Experience
Candidates should possess prior experience working in a dental office with familiarity in pediatric dentistry preferred. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical imaging techniques, and infection control protocols is required for success in this role. Experience with EMR systems like ClearDent enhances your ability to efficiently document patient information. A foundation in medical terminology and medical coding ensures accurate recordkeeping and billing processes. Certification is required.
