Applications are invited for the position of two (2) Registered Dental Hygienist Technologist(s) in the School of Allied Health, located at the Welland Campus. The starting hourly rate is $42.56/hr (Pay Band J - $42.56/hr to $49.34/hr) for a 35 hour work week. Additional hours may be required as necessary.


Reporting to the Associate Dean, School of Allied Health, the successful candidate ensures safe, ethical, client-centered care while guiding students in applying theoretical knowledge in Niagara College's student-led Dental Clinic. The incumbent will demonstrate a high degree of independent judgment, technical specialization, and experience, while collaborating with faculty and staff to ensure consistency of teaching, assessment, and client care in the program. This role will liaise with the Dental Program Manager to discuss student progress and ensure equity of student experience, as well as faculty and clinical instructors to ensure calibration of clinical processes.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:



Supervising and guiding students during pre-clinical, clinical and lab sessions, in collaboration with faculty and clinical support staff Providing formative and summative feedback on student performance Supporting students in assessment, treatment planning, and provision of dental hygiene services Assessing clinical competencies using established rubrics and program criteria Documenting evaluations and providing feedback and recommendations, when required Supporting the safe delivery of client care in a student-led clinical environment Collaborating with faculty, staff, dentists, and other healthcare professionals to maintain high-quality, client-centered care Ensuring adherence to the College of Dental Hygienists of Ontario (CDHO) Standards of Practice, Infection Prevention and Control (IPAC) Guidelines, and program protocols

Qualifications:



Minimum two (2) year diploma in Dental Hygiene from an accredited program Registered in good standing with the College of Dental Hygienists of Ontario (CDHO) Niagara College's Teaching Adults Certification, or equivalent, is required Minimum five (5) years of recent clinical experience as a Registered Dental Hygienist Minimum of one (1) year clinical evaluation experience in a post-secondary education environment
