Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) or CCC

This is a contracted positionfor flexible work hours, both onsite in White Rock/South Surrey and virtually with online video applications; client caseload will be built by you and REACH.

Role Summary:



The

Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC)

will hold current registered or certified status with a professional body which adheres to professional standards and best practices held in British Columbia and Canada. The

Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC)

will hold, at minimum, a master's degree in Social Work, Education and School Counselling, Counselling Psychology, or Psychology. They will primarily be offering individual and family/couple counselling therapy, with the likelihood of group therapy.

Qualifications:



? Master's Degree in: Clinical Psychology, Clinical Counselling, Educational Counselling, Social Work or a comparable degree with strong clinical skills and experience

? Registered within their respective professional bodies

? An undergrad university degree in Education, Social Work or Psychology

? Cultural Awareness and Safety training and/or experience working with various groups and ethnicities such as Indigenous, immigrants, refugees, low income, medically impacted, first responder, etc.

? 2+ years of related experience providing intensive mental health support and clinical intervention services to clients

? Integration and application of trauma-aware and trauma-sensitive approaches which foster positive relational connections and collaborative approaches with clients

? Willing and able to meet TWO or more of the areas below:

o Trained and skilled in working with children, youth, as well as families

o Trained and skilled in working with clients with chronic health conditions; have specific tools to support grief, loss, change, unpredictability, etc.

o Experience and demonstrated skill at work with clients coming from First Responder backgrounds and their unique set of symptomologies based on the profession (law enforcement, fire, paramedics and emergency medical roles, emergency room staff, etc.)

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

:

? Demonstrate experience in assessing, evaluating & planning accordingly to the needs of a client

? Demonstrate a broad awareness and understanding of mental health and wellness services and how to integrate approaches best suited to meet needs of the client

? Ability to assess critical scenarios and risk situations and make the appropriate judgment calls for safety, health, and wellbeing

? Trained/skilled in working with children, youth, as well as families

? Trained/skilled in working with clients with chronic health conditions, have specific tools to support grief

? Experience and demonstrated skill at working with clients from First Responder backgrounds and their unique set of symptomologies based on the profession

? Facilitate psychoeducation for clients based on their abilities/readiness to move forward in their healing

? Maintain proper records and attend to administrative tasks

? Adhere to the regulating professional bodies standards and ethical and moral codes

? Excellent interpersonal skills/use of clinical micro-skills in facilitating growth of client

? Embody culturally sensitive approaches with all people

? Emotional maturity

? Balanced healthy lifestyle with personal self-care practices and identified methods of personal support

? Ability to hold authentic space for client's healing processes

? Non-judgmental

? Empathic and active listening skills

? Belief that people have the capacity to make healthy choices with the necessary support

? Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills

? Ability to implement and manage time effectively and one's own scheduling

? Ability to use/learn the Jane App for invoicing and scheduling in an organized and timely manner

Preferred:



? Training and background in Family Systems Therapy, Mindfulness Focused Therapy, Child-related and/or Creative Therapies

? Training and practice in Somatic, Sensorimotor, and other body-based approaches

? Trauma Aware and Trauma Sensitive Training

? Integration of Ecological Systems Therapy and Attachment Based Therapy

? Adverse Childhood Experience Training or Workshops

? Whole-body integrated approaches

? Crisis intervention training

Role details

:

? This position requires a high degree of flexibility and quick-thinking skills due to the range and complexity of issues facing the populations to be supported

? Time pressure for decision making, changing circumstances and priorities, unforeseen critical incidents and high stress are all part of this position

? Requirement of authentic care and compassion for people and their challenges despite any bias or personal experiences that may come up

? Assess client strengths, problem areas, severity of presenting concerns/readiness to change

? Develop client care plans based on research, clinical experience, client participation and individual histories and needs

? Gather information about possible support systems for the client, including Risk and Protective Factors approach

? Provide information and education, via psychoeducation methods, about concerns in the client's life they may desire to learn about

? Provide solution-focused goals where possible, yet support the client in directing their own healing and resilience to face issues

? Provide information about available services and programs within the community, if requested

? Make appropriate referrals as necessary or requested

? Run group therapy sessions as required

? Support clients using appropriate intervention strategies and treatment approaches that are most suitable to their needs (and adapt as necessary)

? Review, evaluate and document progress, and share with client if they request

? Provide after-care and follow-up, as appropriate

? Participate in REACH Staff meetings

? Participate in monthly Clinical Supervision for support

? Must clear a current Criminal Record check, to be updated two years

? Must have Liability Insurance coverage of 2 million

? Competitive wage rate offered: $98.00 per hour for Individuals; $112.00 per hour for Couples/Families

? Services will be offered virtually/in-person; a high level of access, comfort, and competence in using online virtual platforms and software, is a must. Willingness and ability to work in-person in the White Rock/South Surrey area

? Ability to learn and use the Jane platform via the REACH clinic workspace for scheduling and invoicing.

? Ability to manage personal invoicing in a timely manner, acceptable format, that balances with the REACH Jane payroll reports

Job Type: Casual

Pay: $80.00-$115.00 per hour

Expected hours: 1 - 15 per week
