Job Summary
Sage Sport Institute is seeking a dedicated
Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC)
to join our multidisciplinary team. The ideal candidate is collaborative, compassionate, and experienced in helping clients navigate the psychosocial impacts of injury, trauma, and mental illness.
We welcome practitioners with strong clinical judgment, a goal-focused therapeutic style, and a commitment to evidence-based practice. You will work closely with physiotherapists, athletic therapists, massage therapists, kinesiologists, sport medicine physicians, and orthopaedic specialists to support clients in achieving meaningful improvements in daily functioning, performance, and quality of life.
Responsibilities
Provide counselling services to clients referred from private sources, employers, insurance providers, and third-party organizations.
Address psychosocial challenges related to injury, trauma, chronic pain, disability, and mental health concerns.
Use a
goal-focused, therapeutic approach
aimed at reducing distress and improving personal, social, and occupational functioning.
Participate in interdisciplinary team conferences to collaborate on treatment planning, client progress, and barrier identification.
Deliver high-quality clinical documentation including assessments, progress notes, and discharge reports.
Communicate effectively and professionally with clients, team members, and external stakeholders.
Contribute to Sage's supportive, education-driven, client-centred environment.
Qualifications
Education & Licensing
Master's degree in Counselling or Clinical Psychology from an accredited university.
Registered and in good standing with:
BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (RCC), or
Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCC).
Experience
Minimum
2-5 years
of experience as a Registered Clinical Counsellor.
Demonstrated skill in case conceptualization and treatment of diverse mental health symptoms in adults.
Clinical experience in:
Trauma
Anxiety
Depression
Grief & loss
Adjustment-related challenges
Experience working within a multi/interdisciplinary healthcare team.
Experience preparing assessment, progress, and discharge reports.
Assets (Not Required)
Knowledge related to chronic pain management and concussive symptoms.
Training in
CBT, ACT, CPT
, or other evidence-based modalities.
Experience supporting individuals with injury-related psychological challenges.
