Regional Team Lead (environmental Consulting Services)

Job Description




Our Environmental Services department is growing and FLINT is looking a skilled leader to join our talented team! Successful candidates will bring more than 10+ years of relevant environmental science or engineering experience in the construction and/or oil and gas sectors.

This role is permanent and will require some travel to our different site locations to complete field-based auditing and mentorship for our on-site teams. There is an opportunity to receive relocation assistance for selected candidates based on their current location.

What would you be doing?

  • Leading regional office and staff administratively.
  • Providing technical expertise and directions in;
  • Biophysical assessments (wildlife, aquatics, soil and vegetation).
  • Environmental Impact Assessments.
  • Construction Monitoring.
  • Erosion and Sediment Control.
  • Site Restoration.
  • Contaminated Site Assessments and Remediation.
  • Coordinate with and mentor field staff and senior advisors to scope projects, communicate with clients, track budgets, and deliver reports.
  • Client interaction and financial management such as forecasting, client updates and invoicing and tracking with internal and external software (Siteview, Matidor, etc.)
  • Overseeing client and project safety requirements with field-based engagement in the form of leadership site safety reviews.
  • The Team Lead position is primarily office based; however, a fieldwork/presence component of up to 10-15% may be required.
Does this sound like you?
  • Technical Diploma or University Degree in environmental science/engineering or related discipline.
  • Eligibility for or carry a current professional designation as a Professional Agrologist, Biologist, or Engineering/Geoscience.
  • Experienced in leading and overseeing environmental monitoring for construction and development projects, restoration activities, erosion and sediment control, baseline soil and vegetation assessments, wetland classification and wildlife surveys.
  • Contaminates site assessment and remediation experience is considered an asset but not a requirement.
  • Knowledgeable of provincial environmental regulations, policies and guidelines or technical guidance documents.
  • Have experience with and can safely operate light duty trucks and have a valid class 5 driver\xe2\x80\x99s licence.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Proficiency in planning and control of work in a multi-project, deadline-driven environment.
  • Ability to develop meaningful working relationships with individuals from a variety of diverse.
  • Able to prioritize work, multi-task and adapt to changing priorities in a fast paced, high volume team environment.
  • Proactive approach to problem solving with a strong ability to take initiative.
  • Views health and safety as a priority.
