We're establishing a
brand-new
region in the National Capital Region and are seeking a dynamic Regional Service Line Leader, Environmental Services.

The Regional Service Line Leader, Environmental Services, is accountable for the successful delivery of environmental services in the region. The position will be a double-hatted position with the secondary role of 'Corporate Environmental Management Advisor'. The incumbent leads and provides functional support and training to service line staff, leads regional service line development, and the creation and implementation of environmental programs in the region, and supports the development and implementation of those at the national level. Ensuring compliance with service line policies and procedures, the incumbent monitors overall performance on large and complex projects and is responsible for regional risk management and mitigation activities. The incumbent may lead a small team and manage the human resources responsibilities for the team. The incumbent also manages the Client-Partner relationship. Finally, the incumbent develops creative solutions, ensures the service line supports collaboration, and oversees the quality and timeliness of deliverables within the region.
Primary
Manage regional service line operations (e.g. business plans, reporting, delegation of authorities, risk management, quality of services)
Lead the development and implementation of regional service line initiatives and support national initiatives
Develop, recommend and ensure implementation of policies and procedures, training programs and processes
Provide training to enhance overall service line competency
Review and audit work of service line staff and provide feedback
Complete complex service line project work (e.g. technical reviews on large, high-risk projects)
Research, prepare and present documentation for long-term projects (e.g. approvals, statements of work, charters, budgets, policies and procedures)
Facilitate service line integration to ensure successful delivery of the environmental program
Integrate environmental services into other programs
Manage regional service line risks (e.g. participate in high-risk projects, review deliverables, liaise with Client-Partners)
Ensure the integration of security considerations into service delivery
Promote and manage business development opportunities
Develop and maintain effective relationships within DCC, and with industry, the Client-Partners and/or stakeholders
Ensure quality standards are met, in line with corporate and Client-Partner expectations
Other
Carry out annual verifications to ensure quality of service line deliverables
Assist region's business units with needs assessment and resource planning
Develop annual regional business plan and quarterly reports
Perform human resources functions (e.g. coach, supervise, mentor, plan and allocate resources, manage performance), as required

General and Specific Knowledge
Best practices, methods, trends and legislation in environmental sciences and environmental engineering

Formal Education and/or Certification(s) and Experience
Minimum:
university degree in biology, environmental sciences, environmental engineering or related field with eight years' relevant experience, or the equivalent
Preferred:
specialized knowledge, training and/or certification in one or more environmental services practice area
