Working in collaboration with Business Development Managers and Brokers, the Regional Sales & Distribution Specialist will be responsible for identifying, investigating and developing new and expanded business opportunities to contribute to corporate objectives. In addition, this role provides marketing support including event management, project management and is responsible for creating and executing communication plans for Western region\xe2\x80\x99s strategies and branding initiatives.

Key Accountabilities:

Business Development

  • Under the mentorship of the Business Development Manager develop knowledge of all broker administration functions including broker contracts, profit sharing and incentive agreements, broker premium commitments, Broker Information Centre and all advertising and cost sharing programs.
  • Participate in broker visits to further develop business relationships and knowledge of broker needs for the purpose of enhancing sales. This includes providing production and submission activity reports to facilitate discussions aimed at increasing target submissions.
  • Provide support to the Business Development Managers and assist with the preparation of broker tracking and production reports, business plans and submission of activity reports. This includes providing regional oversight of Insight and Compass to prepare and produce reports for the Business Development Managers and to assist Northbridge and broker partners in achieving business plan targets.
  • Supports the Business Development Managers by assisting with planning and implementation of strategic business plans, reporting, preparation of monthly and quarterly reporting and analysis, and other items as needed.
  • Providing regional oversight of Compass for the preparing and production of reports to assist Northbridge and broker partners in achieving business plan targets.
Event Management
  • Work in collaboration with regional leaders, marketing and other contacts to identify the vision and content of the event, arrange the materials, and coordinate the facilities, presenters and other logistics.
  • Ensure that timelines and budgets are met accordingly.
Administrative Support
  • Supports Sales and Distribution Lead, with day to day needs of running department including scheduling meetings, budget management, monitoring and tracking activity, etc.
  • Involved with research, analysis and other monitoring/measuring as required.
  • Create an atmosphere in which timely, high quality information flows smoothly, and
encourage open expression of ideas and opinions. * Develop and maintain a knowledge and understanding of company operations and procedures, insurance industry and technology trends and developments.
  • Assessing and coordination of broker sponsorship requests, along with managing regional budget.
  • Work in collaboration with regional leaders, marketing and other contacts to identify the vision and content of the event, arrange materials and coordination.
  • Providing project management support for the Regional Sales and Distribution team on effective communication and the launch of new products.
Marketing/Communications
  • Assist with the content development and design of broker specific marketing and communications materials.
  • Maintain up-to-date product knowledge, communicate new information to brokers, and recommend internal workflow changes as necessary so as to continue to provide quality service.
  • Facilitate the use of Insight and Compass (customer relations marketing tool). This includes working with corporate underwriting to deliver presentations on the capabilities/requirements of the system and highlighting the benefits of the system to regional underwriters.
  • Plays an active role in the communication/launch of regional projects and coordinates the resources for projects.
  • Participates in professional organizations in order to expand contacts and enhance company image.

Qualification:
  • Solid experience with 3 years of demonstrated success in a business development and marketing related position
  • 2 year\xe2\x80\x99s experience in an underwriting environment. Thorough knowledge of the functional areas of an insurance company
  • Strong ability to work in a PC environment particularly with PowerPoint
  • University degree, preferably in marketing, communications or related program \xe2\x80\x93 suitable combination of education/experience will be considered
  • Working towards CIP designation
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Adobe
WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • Indoors in normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, fumes, vibrations and temperature
  • Frequent computer use at workstation
  • Periodic travel is necessary, frequency and duration may vary by region
