. This is a fulltime two-year contract position reporting to the Executive Director, Knowledge & Strategy. Working in a national team and managing a regional caseload, the Regional Navigator - North will provide individualized, direct assistance to people with intellectual and other disabilities and their families in accessing federal and provincial/territorial disability related benefits and supports. These may include CPP-D, the Canadian Disability Benefit, the Disability Tax Credit, Registered Disability Savings Plan, Veterans benefits, Jordan's Principle, provincial/territorial disability benefits, and others.
Inclusion Canada employs a team that is distributed across Canada. The Regional Navigator - North position will be based out of our office in Whitehorse, YT or Yellowknife, NWT. Travel within and outside the assigned region is required.
Duties & Responsibilities
Lead in providing direct navigation support and assisting people with an intellectual disability and their families to access disability related benefits, serving as a resource through the development of comprehensive knowledge on available disability related supports.
Assist eligible individuals and families to complete benefit applications and appeals, including direct individualized support (both in-person and virtually), and working with associated programs and professionals throughout the applications and appeals processes.
Connect with medical professionals, governments, and community organizations to gather information and support the application and appeals processes.
Proactively communicate actions and updates to the individual and/or family and other relevant parties throughout the applications and appeals processes.
Maintain accurate individual case files and detailed records, preserving strict confidentiality at all times.
Collaborate with federal, provincial/territorial, and regional disability programs to obtain information and stay up to date changes to application processes, forms, and eligibility rules.
Establish partnerships with community stakeholders including family advocacy associations, member associations, other community organizations and health professionals to promote navigation support.
Complete detailed monthly reporting and inform senior staff about trends, challenges, and policy issues that individuals and families face when applying for or appealing benefits, to help identify and address systemic barriers.

Qualifications
Post-secondary education or an equivalent combination of education and experience, relevant to social services and supporting marginalized populations
Demonstrated expertise in person-centered planning and supports for people with disabilities and their families
Demonstrated experience in case management and coordination skills, including time management, planning, relationship building, problem-solving, and effective leadership
Demonstrated ability to perform duties in a culturally informed and safe manner
Comfortable working in a digital/remote environment and team
Ability to travel within and outside the assigned region
Verbal and written skills in an Indigenous language is an asset

Salary range: $50,000 - $60,000 annually depending on experience
