About the McMan Edmonton and North:
On November 15, 1975, four graduates of Grant MacEwan College decided to open a group home in the inner city of Edmonton. With a vision to evoke change and contribute to the community, these individuals sought to provide support to young people who required care. This ambition ultimately resulted in the foundation of McMan Youth, Family and Community Services Association as we know it today.
Since then, the organization has evolved into a multi-regional body that serves the province of Alberta. Offering a variety of services that respond to the needs of their local communities, McMan has enabled Albertans to achieve their full potential as members of their community.
McMan Youth, Family and Community Services Association (Edmonton and North) is a responsive and innovative organization making a difference in the lives of close to 3000 vulnerable adults with developmental disabilities, children, youth, and families annually. The organization supports people with complex needs that can include physical and medical care, mental health concerns, addiction, homelessness, poverty, and disability by providing them with the services and support they need to thrive.

McMan Youth, Family and Community Services Association, Disability Services Program is actively seeking an experienced and dynamic Program Manager to lead and oversee critical operational and service delivery components of our Disability Services Programs in Grande Prairie. This role is essential in supporting individuals, families, and their networks while fostering a positive impact within the community.
About the Opportunity:
McMan Youth, Family and Community Services Association is actively seeking an experienced and dynamic Regional Program Manager to lead and oversee critical operational and service delivery components of our Disability Services Programs in Grande Prairie, AB.
As a member of the regional management team and reporting to the Director of Services, the Program Manager leads supervisors, staff, and volunteers, ensuring quality service delivery, resource management, and alignment with funder and budgetary requirements. The role fosters a supportive environment, drives continuous service quality improvement, and contributes to the strategic and operational goals of McMan.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Agency Alignment
Demonstrates work practices that align with agency values, mission statement, policies, and applicable standards.
Ensures adherence to McMan policies, procedures, and protocols, keeping the team well-informed.
Service Delivery
Actively contributes to a wide range of strategic and operational issues primarily at the program level, but also strategically as a member of the management team.
Ensures alignment with all contractual, accreditation, legislative, policy, and procedural requirements.
Monitors clients' progress regularly to assess and ensure that services continue to meet their needs as identified during the service delivery process.
Acts as a catalyst for continuous improvement, driving initiatives that enhance the quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of services.
Stays informed about emerging trends and developments in the field, proposing recommendations for program improvements.
Maintains a strong and visible presence within the community, funders, and client base to ensure the program meets individual and community needs.
Participates in regional strategic planning to ensure alignment between agency services and external trends and needs.
Participate in the Best Practice Committee to contribute to the authorization and implementation of restrictive practices.
Performs additional duties to support individuals, the program, and the agency as mutually agreed upon with the Director of Services.
Health and Safety
Collaborates with clients and staff to maintain a safe work environment, following all safety protocols.
Adheres to First Aid procedures and McMan policies when addressing any workplace injuries. Follows McMan policy and WCB reporting standards when responding to employee accidents.
Ensures health and safety of persons served and staff by conducting regularly required program site inspections.
Responds to potentially unsafe situations in alignment with relevant legislation and McMan safety standards.
Human Resources Management
Ensure program staffing and human resource practices align with employment standards, agency policies, and organizational values.
Builds and sustains strong, effective teams, providing support, guidance, and coaching to supervisors regarding policy, procedure, and professional development.
Assist supervisors and staff in resolving conflicts and addressing performance challenges.
Leads staff meetings, encouraging collaboration on client, team, and program-related topics.
Ensure staff are up to date with mandatory training, certifications, and professional designations.
Conducts regular supervision and performance evaluations for direct reports within McMan's established timelines.
Manage employee grievances and disciplinary actions according to agency policies.
Partners with HR to conduct interviews and manage staffing needs for the program.
Financial Management
Ensures program financial operations align with McMan policy, contractual obligations, and funding requirements.
Monitors monthly staffing budgets and financial reports, taking corrective action when necessary to address any variances.
Overseas financial documentation to ensure it meets organizational and contractual standards.
Additional Responsibilities
Performs additional tasks to support individuals, the program, and the agency as assigned by the Director of Services.
Occasional travel to various sites within the area and to Edmonton for meetings and training is required.
Education, Skills and Experience:
A post-secondary education with a background in the Human Services field.
A minimum of three years of progressive supervisory/management experience in the Human Services field. Equivalencies may be considered.
Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and guide staff effectively.
Demonstrated experience in developing, implementing, and supervising residential and/or community-based programs.
Strong organizational skills, with attention to detail in reviewing documentation, procedures, and instructions.
Ability to manage complex, evolving situations with a calm, professional demeanor.
Preferred knowledge and experience working with Indigenous and diverse populations, including an understanding of cultural differences and practices, and a willingness to engage in and support cultural activities.
Valid Class 5 driver's license (with $2 million liability insurance).

Work Conditions and Compliance:
Visual concentration concerning computer usage, and reviewing all documentation, procedures, and instructions.
Occasional lifting of office supplies and materials up to 44 lbs.
Emergency situations may result in the alteration/extension of a shift until the situation is under control (i.e. shift cancellations/staffing shortage, individual crisis).
Works in a variety of community settings, interacting with clients, staff, funders, and government representatives.
May face potential exposure to medical conditions, emergencies, and emotionally charged behavioural situations.
Final candidates will require satisfactory Police Information Check, including a Vulnerable Sector Check and submission of a Driver's Abstract.

Compensation:
The Salary range for this position is $36.84 - $43.98 per hr. (roughly $65,000.00 to $80,000.00+), commensurate with education /experience.
