The Opportunity
Employment Type: Permanent Full Time 1 FTE
Hours of Work: 0800-1600
Wages: Commensurate with Education and Experience
Reporting to the Director of Capital Asset Planning and Maintenance, the Regional Maintenance Manager provides resident focused support in care home/program maintenance, equipment, and property care, custodial services, trade work liaison, equipment preventative maintenance repair and scheduling, and standards for new developments throughout their region. The Regional Maintenance Manager acts as the primary consultant and resource for regional maintenance issues for designated care homes and ensures that service is accessible, responsive, accurate, and consistent.
Educational and other Qualifications
Knowledge of Building Code, Fire Code and CSA Guidelines as applied to Health Care
Minimum 5 years of Management Experience in building operations in a health care setting
Clear pattern of Personal and Professional Development
Technical Diploma (Certified Technician or Certified Engineering Technologist) with emphasis on mechanical systems
Work Experience
Five years' experience in building maintenance
Experience working with mechanical and building systems and servicing including installation and design
Experience in management/leadership of complex maintenance projects
Experience working with contractors, architects, and engineers, building codes, design guidelines and drawings
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Excellent customer service, interpersonal, and relationship building skills
Superior communication, problem solving, and decision making skills
Effective work practice - accountable, dependable, flexible, persevering, meets deadlines, results/goal oriented
Effective research and analytical thinking skills
Successful in building relationships with the leadership team by understanding work demands, expectations, and building maintenance requirements to effectively partner with the client group
Demonstrated knowledge of all care homes/programs and relevant occupational health and safety legislation, building code requirements, and fire code requirements
Able to read and understand building plans including integration of architectural, mechanical, electrical, and structural components
Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to deal effectively with conflict in a diplomatic and professional manner
Competent computer skills in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Project) and email and internet
Exhibit an open and sincere approach by demonstrating respect and compassion for everyone equally
Maintain an individual's dignity and self-worth during conversations
Demonstrate flexibility by changing routine to accommodate client/resident needs
Ability to travel as the demand requires

Requirements:
A current and clear Criminal Records Check Form and if applicable a Vulnerable Sector Check that has been obtained no more than 90 calendar days prior to the hire date.
A tuberculosis screening that has been completed no more than 12 months prior to the hire date.
