Sterling Crane has an exciting opportunity for a Regional Dispatcher to join our team at our Fort McMurray branch to support the Northern Region. Reporting to the Regional Director, the Regional Dispatcher performs a wide range of business support activities required for the efficient operation of our Regions in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures and customer requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee the scheduling and mobilization of cranes, operators, support equipment, and personnel to meet customer needs.
  • Liase directly with clients to meet their specific needs and schedule
  • Facilitate planning and forecasting of resources for Taxi crane operations, large projects and Turnarounds, ensuring maximum cost efficiency.
  • Maintain records around planning and execution in Fleet Cost and Care (FCC) software.
  • Maintain metrics for crane utilization reporting and fleet optimization.
  • Assist with planning crane fleet inspections, services, and maintenance/down time
  • Verify accuracy of Employee time sheets and cross-reference with LEMs
  • Communicates effectively, and in a timely manner, with all members of the team.
  • Ensure that Safety and adherence to Sterling protocol is the 1st priority.
  • Provide leadership and help to foster a team-based approach to problem solving and meeting customer demands.
  • Promote a positive work environment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in logistics/dispatching. Crane industry experience may be substituted for dispatch experience.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with heavy equipment or crane background and experience working with FCC (Fleet Cost & Care)
  • Ability to shift priorities against competing deadlines. Strong multi-tasking, communication, and coordination skills with high attention to detail.
  • Highly self-motivated with strong accountability, consistency, and follow-through skills.
  • Ability to problem solve and work autonomously with little supervision.
  • Ability to excel in high pressure environment with short lead times.
  • Strong computer skills and ability to learn various systems.
IMPORTANT:
  • Successful candidate must be local to the Fort McMurray Region.
  • As a pre-condition of employment, candidate must be able to successfully pass a criminal background check
The working schedule is Monday-Friday, 40 hours a week. Sterling Crane provides a competitive total compensation package, including a comprehensive group benefit plan will be offered.
