Your role
As Regional Director for Radio-Canada Ottawa and the Ontario regions, you are responsible for setting the strategic direction and regional objectives for all Radio-Canada platforms. You oversee the regional station in Ottawa/Gatineau, as well as the teams based in Sudbury, Toronto, and Windsor.
You lead a dynamic management team ready to take on today's challenges in the media industry. You play a key role in developing and implementing performance indicators related to the positioning of regional stations. Deeply involved in the community, you serve as the Corporation's representative with various community, cultural, and economic organizations across the Ontario regions.
Key responsibilities:
Establish the strategic direction and objectives for Radio-Canada Ottawa/Gatineau and the Ontario regions.
Ensure sound management of human, financial, material, and real estate resources for the region.
Provide positive, collaborative, and results-driven leadership to the management team of Ottawa/Gatineau and the Ontario regions, as well as to all employees and contributors.
Assume responsibility and accountability for audience results and traffic on Radio-Canada platforms in Ottawa/Gatineau and the Ontario regions. Work closely with the management team and employees to improve audience performance over previous years.
Oversee the development and production of network programming within the regions under your responsibility.
Supervise the creation of programs in line with media priorities.
Build strong and strategic relationships with partners across Ottawa/Gatineau and the Ontario regions to strengthen community ties and enhance programming.
Act as the Corporation's spokesperson on issues affecting the regions. Represent CBC/Radio-Canada proactively and positively and take part in public relations initiatives, particularly with cultural and community associations.
Your profile:
University degree in a relevant field (e.g., journalism, communications, business administration, etc.)
Excellent skills in strategic planning, implementation, and performance monitoring
Significant experience managing teams, preferably in a unionized environment
Exceptional positive, collaborative, and unifying leadership abilities
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with employees, colleagues, community members, and external organizations
Bilingualism
Experience and knowledge of the media, cultural, and political landscape of Ottawa/Gatineau and the Ontario regions, including key stakeholders and markets
Experience and skills in financial and budget management
Experience in journalism and programming, with knowledge of programming development and production processes (an asset)
Knowledge of the broadcasting industry and current practices (an asset)
