Sterling Crane is looking for a motivated, innovative and results driven operations professional to fill the position of Regional Director based in Sarnia, ON. Reporting to the President of Sterling Crane, North America, the Regional Director is a leader within the eastern operations group responsible for the operational and financial performance of his/her assigned geographic region which includes managing safety, quality, efficiency and profit and loss in accordance with company objectives and Standard Operating Policies and Procedures.

RESPONSIBILITIES



Develop and facilitate a safe working environment by supporting a strong safety culture and enforcing strict compliance with applicable safety rules and standards. Develop positive relationships with customers by providing a high level of service and by meeting operational goals set by the customer and Sterling Crane. Lead regional sales and business development efforts to achieve revenue growth as well as profit and loss objectives for the region. This may include working with Business Development Managers to achieve Regional financial objectives. Serve as the primary driver of efficient and effective capital asset management by allocating key assets for best use and overseeing an ongoing equipment maintenance program that includes a preventive maintenance program for all equipment in the regional fleet. Oversee the development and implementation of core business process and maintain a high level of compliance with Sterling Crane policies, procedures, and operations for the region. Identify and develop employees' capabilities and skills while supporting internal development of leaders within our workforce. Motivate and maintain a high level of commitment and morale among employees. Reviews bid packages and validate KPIs and other contractual statements of work for distribution to the client. Maintain effective quality checks and service commitment with the customer to ensure that all requirements of the contract are met. Serve as the top of an effective escalation path for operational issues and customer concerns and further escalate issues to senior management as needed. Perform on-site audits and evaluations of operation to ensure compliance with safety and operating rules and procedures. Oversee and ensure that near misses and safety incidents are reported and fully investigated at assigned sites; review all relevant information and provide analysis and feedback as required. Attend and lead monthly safety meetings with assigned Site Leaders Oversee and manage operational and administrative process that govern payroll, fuel costs, and other costs at the work site. Ensure the Purchase Order system is properly maintained. Oversee and manage administrative tasks such as timekeeping, hourly evaluations, and filing reports required by the customer and the company. Conducts quarterly and annual Site Leader performance reviews. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Travel throughout assigned region as required.

QUALIFICATIONS



High School Diploma (or equivalent) required, post-secondary education is an asset. 7 + years of operations, leadership, sales, and customer service experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience within the crane and heavy equipment leasing or a related industry preferred. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to quickly and effectively resolve conflict. Demonstrated leadership experience with strong negotiation and relationship building skills. Strong work ethic with the willingness and ability to respond to issues 24/7/365. Proficient with the use of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, and Microsoft Power-Point. Solid communication skills; must be comfortable engaging in a variety of different communicative modes (verbal, non-verbal, and written) and being attuned to others through strong active listening skills. Basic public speaking skills; must be comfortable speaking before groups in a variety of situations. Must have the ability to work well with others as part of a team while maintaining a leadership role to mentor and guide. Maintains a thorough knowledge of operating procedures, safety rules and crane operations. Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to balance multiple priorities.
