The NRRM is looking for an experienced and motivated professional to join our

Regional Development & Planning Team

. In this role, you will work closely with the

Director of Regional Development & Planning

and collaborate with the team to support the region's economic and social growth. Your efforts will help build vibrant communities where residents and businesses can thrive.



Our ideal candidate has experience working in or with rural and small communities, along with a solid understanding of the challenges and opportunities these communities face related to economic development. Familiarity with resource-based economies, including forestry, mining, agriculture, oil & gas would be considered an asset. In this role, you will have opportunities to shape policies and strategies that support growth and diversification across various economic sectors such as industry, agriculture, transportation, tourism, communications, utilities, film, trade investment, manufacturing, and retail. Ultimately, your contributions will help advance the overall socio-economic development of the Northern Rockies Regional Municipality. It's about creating a vibrant community where everyone can thrive and enjoy a high quality of life.



Candidates should have post-secondary education focused on economic development, or a related field. And a minimum of two years' experience in economic development, business development, marketing, or a similar role. Strong oral and written communication skills are essential, along with the ability to deliver presentations and facilitate discussions effectively. Well-developed interpersonal skills are important for working tactfully and diplomatically with a diverse range of partners and stakeholders to build and maintain collaborative relationships. High proficiency with computers and applications--including Microsoft Office programs like Word and Excel--as well as familiarity with municipal systems is necessary. Employment will be contingent upon the successful completion of a Police Information Check.
