Term of App\'t: Temporary, Part Time, Monday - Friday (17.5 hrs/week) Until return of incumbent. Start date: Immediately Reporting to: Director of Ancillary Services & Alumni Engagement



Salary:


Classification 9, $23.38 - $24.10 per hour, as per BCGEU Support Collective Agreement. Temporary employees also receive an additional $0.50/hr. in lieu of benefits, as well as having 6% vacation pay paid out with each pay. This position will have a seasonal break between July - August.


Description:


This position is to backfill for a current incumbent\'s leave. The Regional Bookstore Retailer is part of a team that operates the Fort St John Campus Bookstore and supports bookstore services throughout the NLC region. Duties include processing textbook orders, receiving and unpacking inventory, stocking counters and shelves, pricing and ticketing merchandise, assisting in the display of merchandise, and assisting bookstore patrons. Moderate to heavy lifting is required for dealing with shipping and receiving textbook orders. The hours of work will be flexible in order to provide optimum coverage and opening hours for the store. If you have exceptional customer service skills and enjoy working in a team environment, this may be the perfect opportunity for you. You should have a keen interest in working with a diverse customer base that includes faculty, students, staff, and the public. Note that there will be travel to the Dawson Creek campus required one day a week for the duration of the temporary appointment

Qualifications:

Ideally, the successful candidate is someone with retail and marketing experience and an interest in using digital means to reach and appeal to customers, locally and within the NLC region. Merchandising experience is considered an asset. You must have strong organizational and interpersonal communication skills and a keen eye for detail and quality. Knowledge of point of sales systems, and inventory control are essential. Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent, is required. The selection process will include completion of a clerical test. A current and valid driver\'s license is required.
